Electronic cigarette: flavour restrictions
In this scientific advisory report, the Superior Health Council (SHC) provides a comprehensive assessment of the consequences of the large number of e-cigarette flavours on public health.
The report addresses two key concerns: the uncertain toxicological profile of flavourings when inhaled and the increasing appeal of e-cigarettes to young people, partly due to the variety of flavours available. It also looks at the potential role of flavoured e-cigarettes in helping adult smokers to quit.
The conclusion? A drastic reduction in the number of flavours available for e-cigarettes is urgently needed. Individual preferences of adults should not compromise the protection of young people.
