Blood transfusion system during the COVID-19 pandemic

In this scientific evaluation,  which offers guidance to those responsible for and involved in the transfusion chain, the Superior Health Council of Belgium assesses the potential  infectivity of blood from individuals carrying the pandemic coronavirus, the risk of a shortage of blood components and/or blood products and the disruption of the supply chains for diagnostic and medical equipment.
